Whether you know it as Asia Week (as Sotheby’s does) or Asian Art Week (as Christie’s refers to their schedule of sales) New York’s next round of auctions and exhibitions dedicated to the Asian arts kicks off on Friday, September 7. Scheduled events currently have it running through Friday, September 14, but there’s a good chance that the back end date may be extended due to exhibitions that have not posted schedules yet.
The September running of events loosely tethered to the major auctions is generally a bit more low key than those held in the spring. Yet you can count on spending your time well as you juggle exhibitions with lectures and auctions.
As the gateway site for the week’s happenings, you will find the most comprehensive listing of events here. Just click on the Tab titled Events for times, dates, places – and the experts you will want to contact.
By the way, several of the auction galleries listed on the calendar are still accepting consignments. If you have an item to sell, contact the specialist listed.
Be sure to check back frequently as we have only begun to receive information about New York’s Fall Asian shopping extravaganza.
